In Cambodia, the number of cases of malaria dropped by 93 percent from 2000 to 2020, and malaria deaths fell from 891 in 2000 to zero in 2018.

The U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative is proud to support Cambodia’s National Center for Parasitology, Entomology, and Malaria Control in their path towards eliminating this awful disease.

This video recaps our support from 2016 to 2021 through the Cambodia Malaria Elimination Project I (CMEP). We have a particular focus on working with mobile and migrant populations who are vulnerable to malaria infection because of their work and living conditions in the forests and mountains.
