In remote and underserved kebeles of Oromia, a civil affairs team representing U.S. Africa Command’s Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa is working in Dolo Mena District, Bale Zone, with local officials and volunteers to help families hang insecticide-treated nets properly and ensure that most households have at least two nets to protect themselves from malaria. The teams will hang 35,000 nets, donated by the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative, over a three-week period until the end of April.
