On Monday March 14th, Senegal launched its first national universal coverage insecticide-treated net (ITN) campaign under the leadership of Pr. Awa Marie Coll-Seck, Minister of Health and Social Action, and with the participation of Adm. Tim Ziemer, the U.S. Global Malaria Coordinator, and Tina Draser, the Global Fund’s Regional Manager for Western Africa and the Middle East. The campaign will distribute over 8 million long-lasting ITNs nationwide, of which more than 1.9 million were procured by PMI.
