The U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) welcomes the appointment of Dr. Abdourahmane Diallo as CEO of the RBM Partnership to End Malaria. U.S. Global Malaria Coordinator Dr. Kenneth Staley, who serves on the Partnership’s Board, looks forward to working closely with Dr. Diallo and continuing effective U.S. engagement with the RBM Partnership to drive further progress in malaria.
“Together, the global community has cut malaria mortality by over half in sub-Saharan Africa, and saved more than 7 million lives since 2000,” said Dr. Staley. “PMI is pleased to partner with Dr. Diallo to build on these historic efforts and advance our shared vision for a world free from malaria.”
Dr. Diallo, currently Minister and Health Advisor to the President of Guinea, brings to the role extensive leadership experience and expertise in national and international public health systems. He will take office on April 8, 2019 and will attend the official celebration of World Malaria Day in Paris on April 25, 2019 as his first engagement on behalf of the Partnership.
