The Laboratory Service Department of the Food and Drugs Authority of Ghana recently attained internationally recognition in the area of pharmaceutical quality control. Technical assistance from the US Pharmacopeial Convention, funded by USAID, was instrumental in helping Ghana’s Laboratory Service Department to achieve this ISO accreditation.
This accreditation will enable Gh-FDA to conduct medicine quality monitoring (MQM) to prevent sub-standard and counterfeit medicines being on the market in Ghana and also offer to provide this service to other countries in the region.
