The desired qualifications for this position include:

Extensive technical expertise in design and implementation of public health programs such as malaria, maternal and child health, or related fields in sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on health systems approaches.

Viewed as an expert and respected leader in public health and health system strengthening in low-resource settings, with extensive country-level experience in program implementation.

Experience working in and/or collaborating closely with and influencing ministries of health in malaria endemic countries.

Ability to collaborate with, support, and influence high-functioning, matrixed teams to achieve desired outcomes.

Ability to navigate complex political dynamics and collaborate with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to present on behalf of, and represent, endemic country governments, regional partners, and/or multilateral partners or donors in high-level stakeholder fora.
