This document includes significant revisions to previous Programmatic Environmental Assessments (PEA) for Integrated Vector Management Programs, including risk assessments for new products and revised mitigation measures for vector control interventions to account for the decade plus of experience implementing ITN and IRS programs.

This current revision to the 2007 PEA is substantial in both the number of new products and interventions that were assessed. The imminent arrival of new active ingredients, or new combinations of active ingredients, is essential to combat insecticide resistance. Insecticide resistance is one of the most serious threats to malaria control, and resistance management is a key component of integrated vector management.
